There is a big difference between these examples. Whereas there is no reliable evidence for ego depletion, both Bohr and Newton are not so much wrong as incomplete. They are models of the world (as are all scientific hypotheses) and, as the great George Box once said “all models are wrong, some models are useful”. Bohr and Newton are useful, ego depletion is not.
