That's a pretty muddle-headed article that uses a lot of misleading analogy but does nothing to show that falsifiability isn't part of science. And it isn't, as you claim, the view of Scientific American, merely that of a single contributor. Scientific American, like the Bible, is not necessarily authoritative on all matters.
