Slack came in as yet another “email killer”. It isn’t. It just adds yet another channel I have to watch. Or, of course, lots of channels. It really provides nothing that usenet readers don’t already do, except a sexier interface. It only added threading earlier this year and boy did it seem as if they had split the atom the noise that was made. So now I have to monitor email, our existing instant messaging system (which can also do pretty much everything Slack does, but isn’t as sexy), Slack, internal forums, …, …, …
