I wasn’t angry at your statement, I was sickened by your pompous self-righteousness.

Have you considered that Paul did what he did because he was a narcissist? What better way to get yourself known than to create a new religion out of whole cloth, basing it on one of the many prophets around at the time, thus giving himself the let out “it wasn’t me, it’s what that Jesus person said (in my dreams)”. Almost all cult leaders are (or were) narcissists, some more successful than others.

The rest of your post amounts to no more than “we don’t know how or why this happens so God did it” with no supporting evidence. You can’t disprove that the invisible, intangible, dragon I keep in my garage exists, so by your logic it does.

I can’t convince you because you have closed your mind. You use absence of evidence as evidence of presence. On the other hand, I remain open-minded to the possibility of the existence of any god. It’s just that there is no evidence for that idea that stands up to examination, and overwhelming amounts that suggest there is no god. Or if there is one, (s)he is either nowhere near as powerful and wise as their followers insist, is lazy, or malicious, or a combination of these.
