Dan, I apologise. The final sentence was intended for one of your other respondents not for you. How it made it into the response to your statement I can only put down to a momentary lack of attention. I don't agree with what you wrote, but I do not think it is insulting nonsense - it is well-written and well-argued, though extrapolating from information of dubious authenticity. I don't happen to think there is overwhelming evidence that the New Testament is accurate and trustworthy, it's more likely to be a post hoc mish mash, possibly from the Q source, with material added to bolster the claims of derivation from prophecy. Much like the multitude of other cults that didn't survive (Mithras, for example).
