Atheism means not believing in any god. That doesn’t require faith, it is surely the default position. Stating that you believe that there is no god, on the basis of the total lack of evidence for the existence of a god, also does not require faith, any more than stating that you do not believe that there is a teapot in orbit around the sun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot). Dogmatically stating that there is no god would require faith. On the other hand, you believe whatever you want, whether it be a cannibal zombie cult, flying horses, unicorns, Zeus, The Allfather or whatever.
