Absolutely this. I'm white British, my wife is Black Ugandan. Our daughter really confuses people, she doesn't usually get seen as Black, white, or "mixed-race", people usually think she is South Asian, but when my wife and I were in Egypt recently we saw a lot of people who looked like our daughter. On the other hand, our son has much more typically "African" features, though he has lighter skin than our daughter. He typically gets seen as Black.
