A good general principle is not to use confirmations because people always just press them.

…f all. If you are permanently deleting an item, call a spade a spade and label the button “Delete”. Don’t forget to confirm the destructive action with an modal (and I suggest you label the confirmation button here “Delete” rather than “Confirm” to avoid any ambiguity!)
